Venomous Truth

I’ve weighed my choices:

to scatter my truths

like petals across your skin,

or to lie beside you

in the hush of pretending.

I ache

in the vastness of your eyes,

where desire dissolves

and truth waits,

unblinking.

So I do not lie down.

I drift instead,

a dream spilled across your floor—

unheld,

but everywhere.
